Employment conditions & extras
At Breman, we think it’s important that you feel welcome and valued. We offer attractive employment conditions and extras for all our colleagues. Below you will find an overview of what you can expect from us:
Energy-positive living: Breman helps you save energy at home.
In your first few weeks, you’ll receive an email from Coolblue. You can use this to easily create an account. Your budget will be ready in your personal environment, and you can immediately order sustainable products selected by Breman and Coolblue.
If you want to take bigger steps in your home, such as insulation or another sustainability measure through Breman, you can also use part of the budget from the next two years. In total, you can then utilize up to three years, which is currently €2,100.00. To do this, please contact a Breman Heat Advice colleague.
In short:
• You’ll receive an email from Coolblue in your first few weeks
• You create an account and see your budget immediately
• You can order products via Coolblue right away
• For making your home more sustainable and using three years of budget up to EUR 2,100, contact a heat advice colleague
As a Breman employee, you can take out a free service and maintenance subscription for a heating appliance (central heating or heat pump) and ventilation unit at your home.
What you can expect:
The comfort subscription from Breman. Only the costs for materials are at your own expense and will be charged at a market-rate amount. Appliances 15 years or older may be excluded from maintenance if you decide not to replace the appliance after advice from Breman. This arrangement applies to all employees, even if it is not yet included in the AAV (Supplementary Employment Conditions).
In steps:
- Collect the details of your appliance: brand, type, and year of manufacture
- Send an email to Breman Heat Advice, warmteadvies@breman.nl, including all your contact details (name, address, type of appliance, etc.) + employee number.
- After your registration, Breman will contact you for a ‘zero service’, which is an initial check and maintenance service.
- If everything is in order, the subscription starts, and you will then automatically receive a maintenance appointment every 2 years.
Energy-positive life (vitality budget): We want you to feel good. That’s why you receive a €38 vitality budget every four weeks via the FitterUp app.
What you can expect:
You’ll receive an email in your first working week with instructions, after which you can log in immediately with your Breman email address in the FitterUp app and get started. From that moment on, you can start collecting UpCoins; you’ll start with an initial budget, and Breman tops this up monthly with points, but you can add extra points by taking on extra movement challenges. You can spend these points anytime and anywhere at places like Decathlon and Apple. Or… you can also donate UpCoins to charities like our project in Namibia! So start earning UpCoins right away and exchange them for great rewards!
In steps:
- You’ll receive an email with instructions in the first week
- Download the app (Android or Apple)
- Start collecting UpCoins
- Exchange them for great rewards or donate them to charity
(Tip: On Energy-positive life & living you will find more details about the schemes, such as the full text of our staff handbook and links to external information. You will receive your login details for the intranet by post before you start.)
We share our profits with everyone who contributes to Breman’s success every day.
What you can expect:
Profit sharing always relates to the results of the previous calendar year. To be eligible, you must be employed on October 1st of the relevant profit year. Additionally, you must still be employed at the time of payment. These moments are July 1st and December 1st of the year following the profit year.
Of the profit sharing, 20.2% is automatically paid out via Brebeleg in the form of certificates. If you do not want this, you must actively indicate this yourself. The remaining part is paid out via your salary.
In short:
- Profit sharing concerns the previous year
- You must be employed on October 1st in the profit year
- You must still be employed on July 1st and December 1st thereafter
- 20.2% is paid out via Brebeleg by default, unless you indicate otherwise
- Payment is made via salary
Holiday and ADV: With a full-time contract (40 hours), you are entitled to 25 holiday days and 13 ADV days (reduction of working hours) per year. If you work part-time, you will of course receive these days pro rata.
What you can expect:
You request holiday and other types of leave via AFAS. In AFAS, you can see immediately how much leave you have built up and how much you have already used. Your manager automatically receives a notification to review your request. After approval, the leave is processed and included in the time registration and salary processing.
In steps:
- Log in to AFAS. The login details are in your Breman email. If you can’t find them there, also check the private email address you used to apply
- Submit your holiday request
- Your manager approves the request
- Your leave balance is automatically updated
- The leave is correctly processed in hours and salary

Pension: Your pension is well-arranged through PMT, the pension fund for Metal & Technology. Breman pays a large part of the premium, and you automatically build up a pension from the moment you start employment.
What you can expect:
You automatically build up a pension at Breman via PMT. You will receive a letter at home with an explanation and login details. It is important that you log in on time, for example, to make a choice for an extra partner’s pension. In addition, it is wise to view your total pension situation via mijnpensioenoverzicht.nl.
You pay a 10.28% premium, and Breman adds another 17.98% of your pensionable salary on top of that. Your contribution is visible monthly on your payslip. Be sure to check the PMT website for all the necessary information and clear explanation videos.
In steps:
- You’ll receive a letter from PMT at home
- Log in to your personal PMT environment
- Make your choice for the partner’s pension
- View your total pension via mijnpensioenoverzicht.nl
- The pension premium is visible monthly on your payslip
For the sale of leave, special types of leave, or other leave-related questions, you can contact your HR contact person at the branch where you work. Before asking your question, please also read the supplementary employment conditions that apply to you carefully.
Salary: You receive your salary every 4 weeks. That means 13 payments per year. You might already be used to this from your previous employer, but it’s also possible you had a monthly salary there. The payment date is therefore less fixed than with a monthly salary. It’s good to keep this in mind for fixed costs such as rent, mortgage, or energy.
Tip: put money for your fixed costs into a separate account every month and have your fixed costs debited from there. This way you maintain an overview, regardless of when your salary is paid.
If you get stuck or have questions about this, you can get support through coaching from BeauAvis.
Insured for accidents and disability: Should anything happen to you, you are well-insured through Breman. We have taken out collective accident insurance (Breman pays the premium in full) so that you are financially protected in the event of an accident. In addition, you are automatically additionally insured for disability.
This protects you against loss of income even in the event of long-term illness. Colleagues with a higher income are covered for the portion above the legal maximum through extra insurance. Breman arranges all of this for you automatically; you don’t have to do anything yourself.
(Tip: On PLEK, our intranet, you will find more details and schemes, such as the full text of our staff handbook and links to external information. You will receive your login details for the intranet by post before you start.)
At Breman, we take care of each other. That’s why, as an employee, you can use our provider network: an overview of organizations and specialists who offer support with health, work, finances, or personal situations.
Check out the provider network here and discover what support is available.
